Cannabis Hermaphrodites (Hermies) – Tip Of The Week #8
What causes plants to hermaphrodite or “hermie”? Scott’s got yuh – this is a short one, let us know if you have any questions/comments below! Optic Foliar Switch …
My crop is about 3 weeks into bloom. I've grown this strain 20 times before and turned out great. This time I used Plant-Prod MJ Spike (CaMg). About 3 days later I've noticed now every plant has pollen sacks. Anything I can do to save my crop?
Hey dude love the vid I have issue what if the plant got pollen sacs everywhere but none broken out yet will switch work 4 weeks into flower Please help 😭😭😭
I had 2 in my current crop. They were caused by stress due to my use of high stress training and a little light burn. I murdered them motherfuckers cause one ball was about to crack open and I went…..nope. Personally I've planted 15 plants 2 were hermies the rest females. I can deal with that kind of turn out, especially when I see some folks get 80% males if they have bad luck or one or two males if they have good luck, at least the only 2 I've had to kill were both male and female.
In my grows I like to bush them out instead of up, I've tried the one cola thing and nope not as much yield as bushing it out. I've also noticed topping my plants causes 2 lower branches to show up because they have access to more light so 1 topping = 4 colas as they reach for the light and they are thick branches and cause the over stalk to get thick. Honestly the hardest thing I run into is knowing exactly which nutes the plant needs if a problem shows up. I do know what some of the deficiencies are when they show up or what some nutes that over fertilize what it looks like. Nitro burn, magnesium deficiency, light burn that sort of thing. But knowing all of them when there are that many variables to it is a lot to absorb.
Learn as you go I guess. I am getting better but I still have some to learn like how to keep a plant from stretching so much when you put it into flower.
Now for my question. Has anyone ever had root humps happen further up the plant that is exposed to light? It looks like the plant is literally trying to grow roots out of its normal stalk about half way up it. It is the first time I have seen that and it has me stumped. It looks exactly like if a part of the root system gets exposed to light and that root dies, the node it leaves behind. And no that part of the stalk was ever covered or less exposed to light unless the top bush just covered the light well enough to make it think it had to develop the roots there because it wasn't getting enough light down there. Its really weird.
There are many things you can actually do with pollen like this, many breeders use it to search for or encourage mutations, i always collect the herm pollen to use in project's and always get surprising results.
I recently used Switch on my plants & im going on day 5 after application & I’m experiencing some leaf burn, I’m assuming due to spraying while lights are on (which the recommended..) any help?
Can someone tell me if a plant has no nanners can it still be a hermi ? I keep finding small sacs at the nodes with hairs coming out of them . Plants are Sour diesel auto flowers . They all have the same thing . But no nanners 4th week of flower . Ive had serveral great grows with regular seeds and pulled males before they were easy to spot but these sdaf have me second guessing myself . Thanks for any help .
Mine turned hermie from stress. Left them in little pots too long and they root bound. Transplanted them into bigger pots and a few weeks later they started growing bananas. 😫
I'm going to go check for light leaks also! Hahaha. Hey hermaph hit my wedding cake obviously early before I saw any sign and I got huge seeds. What are the chance they are a lemon cross now? Will seeds have hermaph qualities now or more wedding cake genetics?
You get a herm, chuck that shit, I’ve really only had problems running landrace strains inside, and cookies, but only on the lower part of the plant, just part of growing sometimes
In nature plants sense the moon and stars just like you do. A plant needs an artificial moon and millions of little twinkling stars… maybe an owl hooting.
Most nute feeds already contain mono-potassium phosphate and are foliar feed friendly. I feel like these "reversal" products are just another way to sell water at a ridiculous price to clueless dumdumbs.
Just pulled a beautiful…Hermy. Damn it. Buds already showing, then I looked closely…a damn SEED! Then Male pollen sacs. What the hell? Anyway, outdoor grow and plant in trash.
There are no hermaphrodies in Cannabis, there are intersex individuals and they are caused by intersex genes be they expressed by stress or expressed under all conditions because they have intersex genes that do that. I do not think this guy has a clue because if you somehow use a product that suppresses the intersex gene expression the progeny will still have the intersex genes, the solution is to eliminate all individuals that express intersex traits regardless if stress caused or not, just toss them and do not use them for breeding remember that like begets like so use intersex parents if you want intersex offspring… I would prefer to know that a plant has intersex genes so I can toss it.
✌️☺️
Thank lots brother…..
Can I harvest and smoke it?
Green light can cause hermies.
1st ten seconds made me subscribe already

I never comment or thumbs up but that was hilarious

If you use a 4 part mix & only use 2 by mistake you get seeds in feminized clones.
can a plant become hermaphrodite during veg?
Will the moon liqht cause hermies?

Can you use switch week 5??
Does the flame from your lighter count as a "light leak" while you're hot-boxing the grow? And does smoke effect the plants?
Is it worth saving if it's your only plant mine is budding I just keep picking the sacks off but they r starting to grow all in the bud
Decent info . going to try switch as i want to keep a strain going for future breedings lol

I've heard this product contains the PGR daminozide? Anyone know anything about that?

hermaphrodite by Oregon's only would have been great name 🙂
Do "bombseeds" genetics Hermie much? I'm a noobie trying them and every time it seems so. Just wondering what others find first hand.
My female plants were lesbian. I sprayed them with Tricoxsagin.
ok so I have a female and male that ended up growing in the same pot do I cut the male out what do I do?
Looking for light leaks bro "smoke bellowing out of the tent" 😂😂😂😂 2 thumbs up for making me laugh.

Feminized genetics. Years ago very rare to find a hemorphidite except in exotic sativas
